We Live in Public
We Live in Public
We Live in Public formed at the end of 2010 in a storage unit on the outskirts of downtown Columbia, Missouri. Founding members Jaeson Day and Matt Olson were looking to form a full band to record a new batch of material they had been working on. They teamed up with fellow musicians Zach Denison and Devin Burrow, and within a month the band recorded its self-titled demo. WLIP comes armed with the unique ability to play everything from intimate acoustic sets to full-fledged rock shows. Employing a spicy blend of rock, funk, pop and blues, the group relies on powerful harmonies, danceable rhythms and clever songwriting to entice and entertain their audiences.

Songs of Love, Spite and Science

With an arsenal of vintage sounds and their Sunday best, The End Times Spasm Band revives the spirit of 1920s and 30s dance music, classic female blues singers, and New Orleans jazz. Whether entertaining crowds on street corners or high society restaurants, lead singer Lyndsy Rae soars above the hot trio like a lark and uses her manic energy to spur even skeptical audiences onto the dance floor. A force to be reckoned with, her dynamic personality is evident from the moment she touches the stage, powerful yet tender, demanding without damaging and above all simply radiant.

They've been compared to Squirrel Nut Zippers and Andrew Bird's Bowl of Fire, but The End Times Spasm Band has forged its own sound that augments high-brow lyricism with a hot, devil-may-care style. Songwriter and guitarist Bart Helms has penned songs about paleontology and metaphysically impossible dances, but the band never loses sight of it's purpose: to make feet move.

Their latest studio album, High Wire Lover, was produced by the band and Geoff Montgomery and is available now on Chain Smoking Records.
Cantalouper
Cantalouper
Cantalouper is a band from the midwest and as such their sound reflects that. But there is more to it than that. They seem to care a lot for Flannery O'Connor, the only way a name like Cantalouper could exist. Their love for reverb and big sounds with both acoustic and electric guitars is very apparent. The band states they believe in the "DIY" way of making music, still recording on four track from time to time. They have been booking more and more shows and appear anxious to tour. They had the honor of having David Bazan and T.W. Walsh work on their first EP and Kramer work on their first LP.
Run On Sentence
Run On Sentence
Me: I grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and was wowed at an early age by the songwriting of Simon Joyner. I started writing my own songs a few years later and finally, after several more years of trying to write and sound like a variety of people I thought were awesome, I realized that was not the point. That's when I started Run On Sentence in Portland Oregon. I try to stay open to a variety of musical styles. I have always been particularly fascinated by American Indian singing and tend to appreciate indigenous styles of folk music from around the world.
The Band: We started out with a rotating cast, which worked well for many years. However, we've recently settled a solid core group. Perry Pfister on Upright Bass, Dan Galucki on Drums, John Whaley on Trumpet and Justin Fowler on Electric Guitar. John Reski often plays an additional trumpet in the Portland area while Amanda Lawrence, Jason Leonard, and Julie Gliniany have all been known to sit in from time to time. I sometimes perform solo under the same name but these people add so much to the music that it hardly seems fair. We aim to play for the love of it and hope to connect with other people to make the world a friendlier and more open place to breathe. Please feel free to contact us with questions, comments, or concerns, or for any other honest reason you can think up.
